All businesses with the City limits of Milledgeville are required to secure and maintain an Occupational Tax Certificate from the City. Occupation tax certificates are valid for the calendar year in which they are obtained. A penalty shall be assessed on any business working in the City without first obtaining an occupation tax certificate.

All real and personal property taxes owed to the City of Milledgeville must be paid prior to the issuance or renewal of an occupation tax certificate.

Licenses are valid for one calendar year and the City does not pro-rate fees.

The deadline for 2010 occupational tax certificate renewals is April 1, 2010. All payments received after that date will be assessed a 10% payment penalty.
