The mission of the Milledgeville Fire Department is to protect the lives and property of citizens from injury and loss by providing prompt, skillful, and cost-effective fire protection and emergency prevention and protection. The City of Milledgeville Fire Department operates out of two fully equipped fire stations, located on West Thomas Street and Dunlap Road. In addition to providing emergency assistance, the fire department’s emergency management services also include fire inspections and community fire safety education. Milledgeville Fire Department employees must meet or exceed the training set forth by the Georgia Firefighters Standards and Training and ISO. These classes are both taught in house and at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.
