Historic Preservation Meeting – March 12, 2020

A Historic Preservation Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. in the Economic Development Center conference room located on the second floor at 105 E. Hancock Street, Milledgeville Ga 31061.

Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting – February 12, 2020

The City of Milledgeville’s Board of Zoning appeals will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 5:15 p.m. in Council Chambers located at 119 E. Hancock St., Milledgeville GA 31061.

The Planning & Zoning department is comprised of Planning & Zoning and Building Inspections and is responsible for all current and future land use within the City of Milledgeville.

Planning & Zoning

The Planning & Zoning department (P&Z) guides the physical development of the City through the administration of zoning ShowImageordinances and the Land Development Code.  P&Z handles rezoning requests and general plan amendments, reviews development and neighborhood plans and aides the City in the development of long range growth strategies. This department also issues building, electrical, grading, heating and air, and plumbing permits.

Building Inspections

Building Inspections provides building plan reviews and performs building, electrical, grading, heating and air, and plumbing inspections, and issues Certificates of Occupancy. The Building Inspector is also responsible for the enforcement of the latest code editions, as adopted and amended by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Standard/International Building Code, National Electric Code, Standard/International Mechanical Code, Standard International Plumbing Code and the CABO 1 and 2 Family Code/International Residential Code.
